Real fonts versus fancy text you can paste anywhere
This section is a library of real fonts: files you download and install on your computer or add to a website, then use in apps such as Word, Canva, Photoshop or Figma. They only appear when the font is installed, so you cannot paste them into an Instagram bio and expect the style to travel.
If you want stylish text you can paste into Instagram, Discord, WhatsApp or a username right now, use our fancy text font generator instead. It converts your text into special Unicode characters that keep their look when pasted. Our guide to why fancy text breaks and which styles work where explains the difference in more detail.
Licensing: free for personal and commercial use
All 90 fonts come from the open-source Google Fonts library. Most are published under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, and a few under the Apache License 2.0. Both allow personal and commercial use, including logos, products and websites. Each download includes the licence text and a short readme. If you share the font files, keep the licence file with them. Selling the font file by itself is not allowed.
How to install a font
Windows: unzip the download, right-click the font file and choose Install. Mac: unzip, double-click the font file and click Install Font in Font Book. After installing, restart the app you want to use it in. Some online design tools only accept uploaded fonts on paid plans, so check your tool’s settings. For websites, you can host the files yourself and load them with @font-face.
Frequently asked questions
Are these fonts really free for commercial use?
Yes. They are published under open licences (SIL OFL 1.1 or Apache 2.0) that allow commercial use. The licence text is included in every download.
Why do the previews only show Latin letters?
To keep the pages fast, the live preview includes the basic Latin alphabet, numbers and common punctuation. Other characters fall back to a default font in the preview. The downloaded font files are complete.
What is the difference between these fonts and your font generator?
Fonts are files you install. The font generator produces pasteable Unicode text that works in social bios and messages without installing anything.
