Activities & Sports

Activity and sports emoji cover balls, equipment, medals, games and hobbies. They are common in fitness logs, match updates, event posts and team chats.

Many person-based emoji (a runner, a swimmer) exist in male, female and neutral versions, made by joining the person with a gender sign. Systems that do not support the joined version may show the person and the sign separately.

Practical Tips

  • In a match update, write the score and the team names as text and use the emoji for flavor. That keeps it clear for readers using assistive tools.
  • Medals are good for ranking lists, but screen readers read each one by name, so keep lists short.
  • Check person-based emoji on a second device. A single character on your phone may be two on an older one.
  • One emoji per line works well in training plans and checklists.

How to Use Activities & Sports

  1. Click on any symbol to copy it to your clipboard.
  2. Open the app or website where you want to use it.
  3. Paste it with Ctrl+V (Windows) or Cmd+V (Mac).
  4. Check how it looks: the final appearance depends on the font of the device.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my runner emoji show a separate symbol next to it?

Some versions are built by joining the person with a gender sign. An older system may not know that combination and shows both parts.

Can I use these in a fitness log?

Yes. They paste into any note or document. Add the details in text so the log is still useful without the emoji.

Do these work on every platform?

Most do. Newer sports and games may show as an empty box on older systems.

How symbols look depends on the font and system of each device. We have not tested them on every device. Updated: October 2026
